I ordered Euros and Great Britain Pounds through Bank of America online and they were delivered to our local bank on Thursday. I picked them up on Friday and it feels nice to have that in advance. We will still need to take out some extra when we get there, but hopefully not often. We will have an international surcharge on all transactions, so having some currency before departure is nice and avoids some unnecessary charges.
I have been communicating with Rome Shuttle Limousine about getting a taxi ride to and from the airport in Rome. The website quotes a price of 35 euros per ride, but the email they sent me said 40 euros. So, I asked them if I could get the 35 euro rate and I haven't heard back from them. Hopefully, it's just because it is the weekend and the office staff is not in. I hope I didn't make them angry!!! We'll see soon, I guess.
It's just down to the little things now. I need to start working on specific clothing and items to pack. I've started an informal list, but I need to narrow things down a little and think about the packing situation. We're going to Amarillo next weekend to see Brett's family and to celebrate his neice, Emma's, 4th brithday. It will be the last time we see all of them before our trip. Otherwise, just getting little things like make up and hair dryers purchased. Hope you all have a great week!
Adrian-we'll be out this weekend seeing Christine and David so I'm going to miss you. I don't have a converter for the plugs (or whatever you call those). Frankly, I didn't bring a flat iron. I just used the hair dryers they provided and did the best I could with a round brush and paddle brush.
ReplyDeleteI do have the Eyewitness books, a neat daypack (it's the Rick Steve's one), a collapsible bag that folds into nothing that we put in our daypack for unexpected shopping then filled with goodies for the flight home, a little travel umbrella, other goodies for the daypack, and...I think that's it. Let me know if you'd like any of it, and we'll arrange for you to get it. You're welcome to any and all...
So incredibly excited for you!
