Borghese Gallery

Little does Brett know...because he refers to me as his official "travel agent"...but tonight, I reserved a tour of the Borghese Gallery!  If I went and told him this right now, he wouldn't even know what I was talking bout.  But, you all know that I've been working very diligently on planning the trip and have read several times that if you want to visit the gallery, you must reserve a time in advance.  I chose our last full day in Rome for this.  I'm not sure if that was a good idea or a bad one, but it made sense to me.  And, since Brett has reserved the role of faithful follower, I didn't even ask him...lol.  I've heard that the Gallery has a lot of great sculptures and paitings and it is in the middle of a huge park - which is also a great place for a picnic...sounds very Roman.  Here are some of the things we will see at the Gallery:

Looks pretty cool to me...let's hope Brett agrees...I'll go tell him now!

  1. Adrian,

Great decision! We are "art ignorant", but we loved the Gallery! I'm sure you know that your time slot is only for a set amount of time (1.5 hours maybe?) so it forces you to keep moving through and not linger too long and miss a bunch of stuff. I also loved that there were only so many people allowed in at a time. It was one of the few Roman sites where we weren't overwhelmed with people. And the park--definitely go just sit and watch before or after your visit. We got lunch from a vendor and watched the locals teach their kids to ride bikes, holding hands and strolling along--it was one of our favorite days in Rome! If I weren't so darn happy for you, I'd be sick with envy!
